Do not build it! Put it in Frederick or off of 15 toward Thurmont! Lots of room there!

The roads through New Market cannot handle that kind of traffic. A regular gas station like a WaWa, Sheetz, or Royal Farms would be fine, but the large trucks going through the historic district and especially that 'S' turn right before the historic district is just asking for trouble. A major truck stop off of a highway should be located immediately off of the exit, not a mile off and through small town roads.

This is not an appropriate location for the proposed operation. The infrastructure cannot handle it and the tenants do not want the increased traffic, noise, and wear.

No need for truck parking at such an out of the way location.

I would support a standard gas station here- actually it would be very helpful to have a third option (since the Highs and Falcon have both experienced credit card scams, and the next nearest station is Exxon in Spring Ridge, which is EXTREMELY expensive) But not a truck stop. It would increase truck traffic on 144 in both directions since the nearest interchange with 70 is at least a mile in either direction, and also truck traffic would increase on Yeagertown rd, which is already a massive problem (just look at the wreck from a few weeks ago that had the road shut down for several days). The only way I would support a truck stop in this location is if an interchange between Mussetter and 70 was built, which will likely never happen, not before the Rutters goes in anyway.

We don't have the infrastructure to handle big trucks, nor do I want to hear the noise they will surely make as we already have to deal with it from 70.

This is an inappropriate place for such a large operation. It will clog the road and the intersection, leading to congestion and accidents. The large truck traffic that it will attract is not appropriate for the proposed location.

Was there any thought in this consideration for basically a truck stop? It’s bad enough that Hahns commercial trucks use Main Street. Main Street is a historic district which has already seen an increase in traffic with all the new housing in the area. It already has its share of accidents recently because of this. Why would anyone think it would be a great idea to have more tractor trailers traveling and destroying this road which just recently been repaired. Not to mention the risk of more accidents and pedestrians crossing this path all the time. I can’t understand why I’m signing a petition to prevent this from happening, common sense.

I object to the rutters gas station planned. Too much traffic on 144 that can not handle

I do not support a Rutter's gas station in New Market.

I would welcome a smaller gas station and convenience store, however this plan seems to be too much for our little town!

A gas station makes all the sense innthr world as there aren’t many options in that area with all the new construction. A truck stop makes NO sense. Can you imagine semis going through downtown New Market to get to it? The town isn’t designed for that traffic. It will pass multiple schools, the tiny town and the road is already overwhelmed with all the new construction. This is a residential area not a commercial one.

This would be extremely detrimental to a residential neighborhood and many nearby school buildings. Unsafe and dangerous location on a winding historical road. Perhaps the park and ride makes the most sense.

Stop overdevelopment and stop destroying our green spaces. Go fix up already developed properties or impoverished areas that can’t fix themselves.

A truck stop would cause more congestion on our already over loaded roads! Please NO!!!

Id be fine with a regular gas station there, but a truck stop makes no sense so far from the freeway and through a small historic downtown.

We are already getting overwhelmed by overbuilding. We do not want anything else ruining our town.

Very concerned about the increased traffic this gas station would cause especially with its close proximity to Oakdale High School.
