Downtown New Market can not handle the additional trailers up and down main street. Even the other side of 144 will be bogged down with school and new community traffic. Additional truck traffic is not sustainable.

Absurd idea. It doesn't even seem like it makes good business sense to try to appeal to truckers in that location. I can't imagine the town of New Market is on board with this.

truck parking is not a good thing to add to the area

I in no way support this. There is no infrastructure that will permit 18 wheeler traffic down 144 from either direction while disrupting traffic patterns for residential owners. Not to mention this is situated across from a daycare.

I love how the county posts that this is a 4,827 sq ft location when in fact it is twice as large at 8,427 sq ft. Yes, this could have been a simple mistake of transposed numbers, but unfortunately I have seen this trick before. Its time to play fair! Sign the petition and stand up to this very bad idea! There is absolutely no reason for trucks to go halfway down 144 to get gas when there is gas right off of 70. Just a bad idea all around.

This will cause more truck traffic thru downtown New Market which is undesirable. The roads cannot handle the extra traffic.

I would highly prefer just a gas station with out a truck station.

This would not be a good fit for such a historic small town.

The infrastructure cannot support the increase in semi truck traffic this will bring. Consider local school and daycares before allowing increase in emission.

Why would I want a truck stop in my neighborhood with children and across from a daycare ?? Noise , lights , and truckers ? That’s all we need is a drug paradise in our neighborhood!

The roads aren’t made really to accommodate the amount of traffic or big 18 wheelers.

The location of the proposed Rutter's Gas Station is inappropriate and lacks thorough consideration for the immediate surrounding community.

Our neighborhood would not feel safe with overnight truck parking at the entrance.
