Stop royal bank of Scotland closing Greenock branch

In the news today it has stated that small shops are closing on the high street due to the closure of the Banks as footfall decreases so a closure is the nail in the coffin for other businesses

This petition is extremely deceptive. The plan was to close the branch and open a new and improved branch 15 minutes walk away up the street. I think the proposed branch is a brilliant idea. It's closer to bus routes for elderly and disabled customers as there's a bus stop a few minutes away down the road. There will be no need for lift access to get to the branch either, I'm in a wheelchair and petrified of lifts so the current branch is no good for me. I look forward to being able to visit my branch again. Bring on the new Greenock branch I say!

To the RBS Management show every one of your customers that you value that they choose to bank with you and downsize if it helps but keep a branch open in the town centre. Thank you

The relocation of the RBS to the mortgage centre is too remote to provide all customers safe access to their money. Making customers bank online is not the safe or satisfactory solution for every customer of your bank. As our town centres are evolving with the economic climate I would have hoped that as a long standing business you would be an example to guide other businesses. Have you thought about downsizing to a smaller unit in the town centre? Please listen to all of your customers as we all supported you when you needed us. It's time to repay the debt or are you in trouble again?

Greenock cannot have an RBS branch but a little place like Largs can have one. I wonder if Largs will be next?

Ridiculous suggestion to move the branch further away from greenock town centre and away from vulnerable people that don't have their own transport or access to online banking.

Where do we go if we lose this ?

My mother lives in Greenock and is a devoted customer of RBS and relies upon the personal interaction with the devoted staff. I have seen this in person and is a vital link to the community. The loss of this well established branch would would be a very serious blow.

Absolute disgrace, we will be going to Glasgow soon enough to cash a cheque

As a long term customer of RBS in Greenock, I am very unhappy at this move and I will have to move to a bank which is local. Bank is not thinking long term - why not just downsize!!

Been banking with RBS FOR 45years. If they close this branch I will take business elsewhere . It’s disgraceful.

This bank provides a necessary amenity for tourism. Closing will provide a hardship not only to local residents but also visitors to the town.

I don't drive..it's not acceptable at all..far to far away

So angry they don't seem to care about people anymore and what they have to go through to get to new premises they will end up loosing lots of customers as i for one and my family are thinking of changing our banks if this change goes ahead.

If RBS close the only branch for PG & Greenock branch I will be moving banks !!! Absolutely shocking !!!

People still need to use banks, not everything can be done by computer.
