The legislature officially dropped Bill H5573 today. This win belongs to every one of you who kept the pressure on your representatives until they listened. Keep your eyes on the state house because we need to remain ready if they try this again.
ATTENTION FIREARMS OWNERS: There is a bill currently in the RI House that will rewrite RI law and force all gun owners to register each of your firearms at a cost of $100 EACH and will go with a 3 year prison sentence for non-compliance with the law.
Not only does this bill violate your privacy, it taxes one of your RIGHTS as a citizen. Once they are able to tax one right they will be able to tax them all. The time for talk is over, now its time to speak up. Please help us reach 1000 names so we can fight this. The bill can be found here:http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText13/HouseText13/H5573.pdf
The feedback from thousands of you confirms that these registration fees are an unacceptable burden on our constitutional rights. Call your state representative today and tell them to vote no on H5573. Send this link to three friends who also own firearms so they know exactly what legislation is being proposed.

100 bucks per gun?? Thats a joke. RI needs to wake up and start focusing on actual criminals instead of bothering us.

This is total garbage. They just want to drain our bank accounts and keep tabs on law abiding people. Not on my watch.

Absolutely not. My rights are not for sale and they definitely aren't something the state should be charging a fee for.
