I just do not believe the claims that there will be no odor.

Please don't surround our neighborhood with commercial warehouses or meat packing plants! What if it was going in your neighborhood? I know you wouldn't want it either!

Please no beef processing plant this close to homes and schools.

I respectfully request that the city planning commission debt this requested annexation and land use request as it will make an already congested traffic flow in this area so much worse. It will also diminish future residential development in the area. There is already enough commercial development going on.

There is already way too much industrial facilities taking over the rural areas surrounding Nottington Creek. It is time to stop this trend and do what is right for the citizens rather than the industry for a change. Vote to stop yet another big facility from taking over this entire sector of South Olathe.

We moved here four years ago to an area we were told would be residential only. Since that time the City has approved the building of a massive warehouse to the west of us at 175th and Hedge Lane and there is another proposal for the building of another warehouse across from our subdivision to the north at 175th and Lone Elm. These warehouses are being given all kinds of tax breaks while our real estate taxes continue going up and up. Enough is enough!

The city's master plan is to put things in our back yard so they don't have to look at it. (or smell it)

We need more housing and some shopping in this area. Not warehouses and pollution from truck traffic. I would like the EPA to do a study in our neighborhoods to see how bad the air quality is.

There are many other places, NOT near a residential neighborhood for meat processing. It is absolutely one of the smelliest places that can be imagined.

If the city of Olathe plans on allowing this meat plant to be passed, I'm expecting that my real estate taxed need to drop by 5K a year to put up with that nausiating smell. I have a friend that lives in Greeley Colorado that is 10 miles from a processing plant and it stinks everyday outside of his house. We don't want it or care to have it anywhere in the city limits of Olathe.

We are completely opposed to this. The smell will be unbearable. This will reduce home values considerably. DO NOT APPROVE THIS!!

Industrial plants have no place among residential neighborhoods such as Nottington Creek.

My husband and I strongly agree that this area is no place for a meat packing plant.

We are vehemently apposed to the processing and meat packaging plant. The smell and increase traffic will be a significantly negative factor for our neighborhood!! We are already inundated with a huge increase in traffic due to the number of warehouses that have been allowed around our neighborhood. DO NOT APPROVE!!

I'm opposed to this project. The increase in industrial buildings in the area have caused a large increase in truck traffic. All of these industrial buildings being built, yet barely occupied.

I do not want a meat packing facility that close to my home. Not only will our home values go down, there are also the health concerns, noise pollution and the aesthetics of such a facility. I do not support this!

I built in this neighborhood because it was close to family, good access to highways and amenities. I fully expected more neighborhoods but not industry. I’m very disappointed that not one is looking out for our neighborhood and allowing increased truck traffic, tax subsidies for industry while we get ridiculous increases in property taxes. As more industry comes in our property values will decrease. Not what a homeowner wants. I’m disappointed that commissioners can’t come up with zoning/planning options that take in the needs of the homeowners and their families.

The smell will be horrible!
