Please stop removing prescription insurance coverage for state employees hired before July of 2011. They worked hard and they deserve to be respected.

Please honor the benefits used to attract and retain talent.

I have worked for State since 1998. This is breaking the benefits promised in retirement when we were hired. Benefits that covered medical care including prescription coverage.

Taking away prescription drug coverage for long-term state employees and telling them to use Medicare instead is really unfair.

My entire retirement plan was contingent on this state benefit. I will not be Medicare eligible until 2029. This is a crushing blow, especially for retirees not yet eligible for Medicare.

I am a current University of Maryland Professor, and the status of Prescription Drug coverage post 2025 strongly affects my retirement planning. This planned elimination of a benefit I have been counting on is outrageous!

This is an unthinkable legislation. It will put an undue burden on so many people, myself included. The health of the employees in the bedrock of a working university.

Please keep our prescription benefits!

Medicare coverage is not and never will be an adequate substitute for a prescription plan like the state's. Employees should not be forced to rely on it, especially when there was an implicit promise of coverage for current employees. Targeting employees hired before 2011 also suggests a policy of age discrimination.

To take away this benefit is to breach the contract made when hired.

This proposed change is a bait and switch--long term faculty will be hurt by this. We sacrifice income to help educate students in the state and the Assembly should support us.

Stop assaulting my generation and taking away our benefits so that we can’t afford drugs in our infirmity.

Removing prescription insurance coverage would have a detrimental impact on the health and financial stability of affected employees. State employees hired before 2011 have planned their futures around the benefits they were promised upon employment, and this is a breach of trust. In addition, the long-term consequences could lead to increased healthcare costs for the state, as employees may forgo necessary medications, leading to worsened health conditions. Finally, this could have long-lasting implications on the morale and retention of experienced employees.

This is messed up, please do something about this.

Please pass bills SB349 and HB670 that seek to reinstate the State of Maryland retiree prescription drug coverage for employees hired before July 1, 2011.

Do not let us down!

Promises made to employees should be kept.
