We have a right to presume that any meat we eat has been humanely slaughtered. It is deeply distressing to learn that the meat we have been deceived into buying comes from animals that have suffered so terribly. In my view, this is a serious crime.

We should not be expected to eat halal as a matter of course! halal should not be permitted in the UK due to its barbaric means of killing the animal. I appreciate stunning and killing animals is bad enough for some but this takes the biscuit!

I feel strongly, infact outraged that an individual/school/PTA think that they can without consultation decide on what is/or not acceptable as a food offering to its pupils. I would not personally accept Halal slaughterd meat, but parents and pupils SHOULD be given the choice and made aware of what is being offered.
