Stop Public Access–Turkey Neck POA

You have got to be kidding me!! That is all we need is the invasion of MORE hydrilla/eurasion water milfoil weeds in this area. Besides the congestion in this area is ALREADY causing DANGEROUS safety issues. There seems to be so many more boater that don't know the rules of driving a boat in wide open water spaces, let alone in a more congested area. If this keeps up, it is just a matter of time before we see some pretty serious skiing and boating accidents. Of course, what do I know?-I have only been using this ONCE beautiful lake for 48 years.

Due to dangerous lake and traffic safety-related issues, I strongly urge halting the proposed DNR purchase and potential public access site of the peninsula between Ezra Savage Road and Yacht Club Road at DCL.

There needs to be no more congestion added to the lake if you want to keep the same quality of clientele coming back from year to year.

Yacht Club Road is very dangerous with the current local traffic. Very poor idea! Money could be better spent!

Please use the money to help get rid of the invasive plants.

Green Glade cove is in desperate need of help! We had to take our boats out by the second week in augest when we owned property ln GREEN Glade cove.

I'm against this! There must be a better location.

Instead of purchasing this property develop the acreage of property DNR owns in Cherry Creek Cove on state park rd!!! This property remains dormant with no signs of being develop since before 1977☺️

Please spend that money fixing our aging lake. Kill weeds, dredge coves!

Unbelievable. We already have so many needs at DCL and that kind of money spent on .97 is unconscionable What do the "little people" have to do to be heard?

I visit Deep Creek Lake 4-6 times/year in the targeted area. I go to DCL for the quiet serenity only a rural setting can provide. Building this facility in this location serves no pressing need, because boating is just minutes away for anyone who wants it. What it will do is immediately disrupt and forever ruin the equanimity and natural beauty that defines this little piece of heaven.

I own a house on the lake and am extremely disappointed that the State that is supposed to protect our rights went ahead and purchased land for this intent without ANY public meetings. There is already public access at the State park. This area proposed is a protected wetland.

You need to spend the money on other problems that the State has not faced. Why are they thinking of paying TWICE the going rate? What does Maryland Senate and House think of this waste? Do not allow this to move forward!!!!!

This is wrong on so many levels. Please put a stop to this NOW! Our family of five have enjoyed this part of the lake for over 15 years. How am I supposed to explain to my three young girls that what we love about this location will be destroyed by your decisions?

Public transparency sorely lacking on this transaction. Due process is demanded of responsible government.

We should expect and demand that elected and appointed officials demonstrate high standards with respect to due process, transparency and fiduciary responsibility. In this case, their apparent standards are appallingly low.

Lake is dying now from over use and invasion of evil plants. Spend the money to bring it back first.

As a homeowner in the Turkey Neck area of DCL, I am strongly opposed to public development which would interfere with the longtime owners and residents peaceful use of their private property. There is no "public need" for such development, the DNR should use its money and resources to protect the natural elements of the lake (water quality, invasive weeds, etc.). DO NOT PROCEED WITH THE PROPOSED PROJECT.

Public boating access is important but public oversight is even more important…why was this deal done behind closed doors? who was involved? This should not be finalized until adequate public review is allowed.
