This land could be better used to benefit the taxpayer.

The Laurel Rd/Honore Ave intersection is way to high profile a spot for a maintenance building of any type! Put it somewhere out on Knight's Trail !

Knights trail road is a much more suitable site.

Please reconsider & move this planned facility to county land off of Knight’s Trail. Any development in the Laurel & Honore area needs to look like part of a community.

I agree surely there is a more practical place for this.

This 'Gateway' is not the proper location for a Maintenance Facility Site. This site sets the tone for the area, for both residents and visitors. How can our Land Managers not take this into account as one of the highest priorities when considering these ideas? Is there not a master plan with some basic rules to be followed? How much money was wasted already on a consultant? Further, this prime piece of land, at an Exit right off of I-75, could be developed tastefully and properly to derive generous property taxes for the county. We live in paradise here in this area and we want to keep it this way. Please develop our lands with this in mind.

Why would the county give away this valuable land, rather than comply with the community's wish to sell it, when it insists it so desperately needs revenue that it must sell our public lands at the Celery Fields?

What a foolish thing to do. Undermining Nokomis' commercial prosperity and real estate values by putting something so inappropriate at a highly visible location is exactly the wrong thing to do.

As a Homeowner in Sorrento South I do not want the property used for outdoor parking of vehicles. It would be unsightly for people coming to our area.

A auto maintenance facility is not the best use of this valuable gateway property. It does not support the existing commercial and residential neighborhood and future Sarasota Hospital. Put the Laurel Road property back on the tax roll, and locate the maintenance facility at the existing Knights Trail land. Let's make this Interstate interchange be a destianation and gateway to Sarasota that shows good sense planning.

As president of the Mission Valley Civic Association and a very long time resident of Nokomis, I find it disheartening that such a facility should be contemplated at a gateway to Nokomis. There is a ton of properties already designated as GU on the county owned land off Knight Trail. That is where this facility , if needed, should be built. Personally, I would prefer the property not be sold and developed into another commercial entity but used for some other public purpose.

We need something more attractive as well as functional at the gateway to Nokomis. A new Sarasota Memorial Hospital would be perfect.

A maintenance sheriff facility should not be built in this gateway interchange. What is built in this location will set the tone for all future delevopent.. this property should be sold for commercial development and be back on the tax roll and support the future hospital site and Publix shopping center . The kno
Ights trail location is better suited for both the county fleet and sheriff maintenance. Please vote against this zoning change.
