I have seen and felt the abuse that happens behind our prison walls. Complaints go without punishment and when inmates grieve correction officers it can be deadly for them. They can be beaten, both men and women, they will be harrassed and ticketed to death with lies. Many lose their dates because correction officers can lie at any given time and are believed. Most of the problems in prisons are because the bad apples of correction officers start some kind of problem with the inmate. Whether it be degrading, humiliating, refusuing them medical or mental health treatment, or just talking to them like animals. As long as we the people in charge do not stop tyhese bad apples, it will only get worse. In Bedford Hills one young lady was supposed to go home Dec 1 2014. Because of a set up with a drug test and a ticket by an officer who has threatened physical violence on her, and she responded, " go ahead and punch me in the face then I will take your job" the officer turned it around and said the inmate threatened her. She should be fired as should every officer that has lied and put their hands on my daughter. They love to take peoples good time just to satisfy their power hungy ways.They make inmates have more problems than they had before they entered the system. Many of these people have a mental health statues and they become worse because of the bad apples. Either we want people to come out of prisons healthy and ready to start anew or we want people out of prison unhealthy, angry, feeling useless in society. We have had the second choice for years now. Guess what? it is not working, it is time for immediate change.

So many free individuals have done something that if they were caught could have put them in jail/prison. Even drinking and driving but for the grace of god someone wasn't killed, accidently. But most of us could be incarcerated. Let's stop torturing our people.

We have in our prison system men and women who are sadistic, rapists, pediphiles, racists, bigots and whatever part of the English language which describes a broken person; who are in positions of authority over our loved ones who are incarcerated1 yes, I said our loved ones, because our sons and daughters, our nephews, nieces, granddads, grandmothers,fathers, mothers, grandsons and daughters do not cease to be our loved ones because they made mistakes and were imprisoned for them! They need to be protected against the heinous treatment of the officers we pay to watch over them. We are demanding that something be done now to protect our loved, family members from physical, mental, and sxual abuse at the hands of those we have employed to serve us and them as well! Fire them all, all who stand by and allow these atrocitites to happen, all those committing the acts, and all those who don't care , who are indifference to the acts happening to the inmates, fire them all!

Freedoms take yes, abuse/sexual assult, medical neglect... These are human rights so I understand they need to be punished for their crimes but they are human being that have don't deserve to be beaten, abuse sexually, neglected medically.. So no matter what you think a person has done tourture is never ok... Hate has never fixed anything in this world but it's caused a whole lot of problems.. So let's end it!

They are mistreated and are living under conditions that are insufficient for humans. No matter what crimes these people have committed, they are still human. In Texas state prisons there is no air conditioning where in the summertime, temperatures reach to over 100 degrees causing many deaths and illnesses.

The federal prison system is cruel. They keep inmates from their families by shipping them as far away as possible. This is beyond punishment, and serves no purpose.
