I fear for my husband's life and I am not sure he will ever make it out of the Florida prison alive. He does not deserve that fate. He is there to pay for the crime he committed while being on meds from the VA which 2 of the meds should ever been given together. He was and is a good man whom serve his country and had never been in any trouble that would put him behind prison bars. The abuse has to STOP.

My son is incarcerated st Georgia State Prison for probation violation. He is a severe type 1 diabetic. This weekend he spend in ER with DKA and they just laughed at him. DKA is fatal if not treated. They did treat his condition but not his mind. He doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. He has spent most of his time there in the infirmary but was told he would not be brought back to the infirmary again unless he is dying. They are killing him.

My son is incarcerated st Georgia State Prison for probation violation. He is a severe type 1 diabetic. This weekend he spend in ER with DKA and they just laughed at him. DKA is fatal if not treated. They did treat his condition but not his mind. He doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. He has spent most of his time there in the infirmary but was told he would not be brought back to the infirmary again unless he is dying. They are killing him.

I was a pretrial detainee in Saline county jail Arkansas. That place is a disgrace and I am now ashamed to have fought for this, "look-the-other-way-country." This is a great country but when we treat Americans like animal-slave-pets as needed; a great many changes most take place and it needs to start with civilians not in jail or prisons.

I was a pretrial detainee in Saline county jail Arkansas. That place is a disgrace and I am now ashamed to have fought for this, "look-the-other-way-country." This is a great country but when we treat Americans like animal-slave-pets as needed; a great many changes most take place and it needs to start with civilians not in jail or prisons.

Jails, prisons whether state or federal need to supply immediate medical care to every inmate including dental and eye care. Medications should be maintained as well as body weight and hormone levels. Phone use should not cost more than it does for people who are not locked up. Entertainment must be required as boredom leads only to violence and additional mental illnesses. Educational efforts should be made for every inmate according to need and anticipated length of stay. Guards who are angry, stone faced, or sarcastic should be dismissed. The better the environment the more likely the inmate is to not re-offend. If budget is the problem simply arrest less people.

I have seen and felt the abuse that happens behind our prison walls. Complaints go without punishment and when inmates grieve correction officers it can be deadly for them. They can be beaten, both men and women, they will be harrassed and ticketed to death with lies. Many lose their dates because correction officers can lie at any given time and are believed. Most of the problems in prisons are because the bad apples of correction officers start some kind of problem with the inmate. Whether it be degrading, humiliating, refusuing them medical or mental health treatment, or just talking to them like animals. As long as we the people in charge do not stop tyhese bad apples, it will only get worse. In Bedford Hills one young lady was supposed to go home Dec 1 2014. Because of a set up with a drug test and a ticket by an officer who has threatened physical violence on her, and she responded, " go ahead and punch me in the face then I will take your job" the officer turned it around and said the inmate threatened her. She should be fired as should every officer that has lied and put their hands on my daughter. They love to take peoples good time just to satisfy their power hungy ways.They make inmates have more problems than they had before they entered the system. Many of these people have a mental health statues and they become worse because of the bad apples. Either we want people to come out of prisons healthy and ready to start anew or we want people out of prison unhealthy, angry, feeling useless in society. We have had the second choice for years now. Guess what? it is not working, it is time for immediate change.
