I was informed today that some organizations are pushing to have Pedophilia combined with the LGBT community, claiming it is a sexual orientation and therefore pedophiles should be protected by the same laws that protect the LGBT community. If you are part of the LGBT community and/or a parent, think of how this would affect you and more importantly, possibly your children.
This deeply affects everybody. Parents who drop their children off at a daycare center before work could potentially be entrusting the welfare of their child(ren) to a pedophile protected by anti discrimination laws originally implemented to protect the LGBT community. This could even protect said pedophile from being fired. Pedophiles could possibly pass under the radar as a teacher and be protected by anti-discrimination laws.
A person who falls into the LGBT spectrum is not mentally ill. As a member of the LGBT community myself, I personally deeply despise the sickening thought of being lumped together with pedophiles. If allowed, this WILL affect the way the world looks at our community. We are already discriminated against in nearly every corner of the world, and while we are gradually making progress, this proposal could literally be the last stone to be put in place to justify the slaughter of the LGBT community.
Pedophiles do not belong in any community be it physical or not. They should be kept in prison, well out of the reach of potential victims, and most certainly not protected by laws meant for persons who actually need them to prevent their lives from being affected. But most importantly, parents really need to realize that this WILL put your children in extreme danger. This needs to be stopped.
This is possibly opening the door to including rapists and murderers to also be protected under law.
So I petition the LGBT community, centers which provide assistance to our community, and public businesses and families everywhere to protest the dangerous proposition presented before you.

Seeing this level of support confirms that so many of you share my deep fear for our children and our community. I am truly overwhelmed by the speed at which people are speaking out against this dangerous reclassification.

Pedophilia is never acceptable and should be met with the severest of consequences at every instance. Adults are to be held accountable for their actions and not allowed to take advantage of the innocent.
Pedophilia is NOT and should NEVER BE classified as a sexual orientation. The fact this is even being entertained by not only our government, but the rest of the world is appallingly terrifying.
The fact that sex offenders already don't see as much prison time as other offenders is pathetic. Now, people are wanting to give them protection as if they are the same as someone who is Gay or Transgender? This is beyond pathetic. I don't even have words to describe it. When a pedophile is imprisoned, they are already able to have the protection of the prison with protective custody is ridiculous. When other prisoners find out that another person is there because of him being a pedophile, do you know what normally happens to that person? Just guess. Now, imagine what will happen if this is legalized, and fathers find out that someone has done something to their daughter, or anyone actually, imagine what will be occurring in the streets. This is absolute ridiculous. And it's beyond pathetic that there even needs to be a petition to be against this!

Adults are meant to protect children and raise them- they are not sexual objects. A minor’s sexuality is their’s to explore on their own terms, and is not something an adult should take advantage of for their own demented fantasies. Kids have been known to develop anxiety, depression, and even suicidal tendencies from these actions- and it can ruin their lives. Pedophilia should never be normalized for the sake of our youth. Anyone who takes advantage of children physically and emotionally for their own sick pleasure is a monster. Our kids are our future and they need to be kept safe from predators who wish to take it from them.
