Stop PECO from cutting down our Trees!

Find a different solution than cutting our trees down. How about burying the lines? This is an historic neighborhood and the trees are as important as electricity. Find a happy medium

I have received word that my two 30 yr old maples originally slated for removal will be pruned instead. PECO has been pruning these street trees periodically for years and still the trees look pretty good. But the wires need to be buried, once and for all. Now is the time. Federal infrastructure money available????

Don't cut down a single one. Lazy PECO cuts down trees and ruins the neighborhood. All the while their prices go up every year. So I'm losing on my bill and my home equity. PECO is worthless

Governor Wolf's 2019 executive order allowing PA toparticipate in the RGGI calls for strong support of marketplace projects that decrease greenhouse gas. PECO's $12 million upgrade it says will enable increased capacity for solarity and electric car charging. But it is cutting down many, many healthy trees in the process. We need to connect the dots and get Shapiro to act on projects that may appear to reduce greenhouse gas and be climate change initiatives, but which in their implementation destroy the most efficient, already existent tool we have to reduce CO2 emssions--TREES. There's gotta be an both/and, win/win here if we don't hand over sole ownership of the plan to tutility company and count on it to do the right thing. We do not have to choose between solar/electric cars v. trees, and we will not win on cliate change if we do!!

Is there another competitive company This is unacceptable.

Communication with the community has been horrendous at best and one can only infer this is obviously for a purpose.

It’s outrageous that as an affected property owner we STILL can get an answer as to which 3 trees in our yard are slated to come down. The lack of transparency, in addition to their refusal to grind stumps so we can replant is unacceptable!

This is a project that will profoundly change the northern part of the borough for generations to come. PECO's plan is incredibly short-sighted and they have provided no technical proof of the need for the upgrades or whether other solutions could be considered. PECO makes money from these infrastructure upgrades, with the costs passed on to customers. The project must be conducted in a smarter, more environmentally conscious manner.

Keep out Swarthmore beautiful! Move power lines into the ground.

This plan will significantly (and negatively) alter the landscape of our community. PECO needs to work with the residents on a mutually agreeable solution.

Trees add charm to the neighborhood. Trees can add value to your home, help cool your home and neighborhood, break the cold winds to lower your heating costs, and provide food for wildlife.

Do not cut down our trees. We recently purchased a home far over our budget, in an area with extremely high taxes because we love a neighborhood with large mature overgrown trees. Every other home I've owned had underground wiring, from NY to RI to FL. Over 2 decades ago I lived in a far less expensive area and even they had their utilities under the ground. It's not only unsightly to have wires above ground but cutting down 50-100yo trees is unacceptable. Above ground wiring is hazardous and causes problems during the inevitable storms we have each year with power outages. How can a community of this caliber not be able to afford underground utilities?????

In the age of climate change, it is simply unconscionable to "upgrade" anything by killing hundreds of trees, many centenarians. Please BURY THE CABLES! We residents are your customers, we residents are admittedly ultimately paying for the "upgrades." So, do not turn the "upgrade" against us! Don't be a greedy company; after all, you are a 'public utility.' You have social responsibilities before those owed to your investors who shortsightedly may see only short-term bottom-line profits. Stop this terrorism against our community; you have already created an untold amount of fear and distress in the communities where you are pursuing this preposterous plan. No one benefits from this. To the extent that you contribute to even wilder weather, you are actually ensuring more, not less, maintenace work everywhere else! Quite dumb on its face. Burying the cables is the ONLY acceptable route.
