Much of Swarthmore has been able to have this upgrade without this drastic tree removal, pruning, leaving stumps, and installation of massive poles. Should not be done for the rest of Swarthmore. One large tree with leaves provides oxygen for 4 adults a day and removes pollutants.

PECO ‘s plan will negatively impact Swarthmore for genera to come. There are better options for a solution and total plan including initial hypothesis must be critically assessed.

As an engineer, I would like to see for myself the technical analysis and rationale that is being used to justify this action. If the supply voltage and current is not changing, I do not understand the need.

Not only The outages and repair are expensive but also risky and inconvenient. Modernizing the electric wires be going underground are long term vision and therefore beneficial for the community.

Current plan is short sighted and as long as power lines are above ground power outages will continue in bad weather.

Please reconsider and develop a kinder, gentler plan to save as many of our trees as possible.

One of the reasons I love Swarthmore is because of the gorgeous trees all throughout town. PECO should use the same power lines that are already there or put the new lines underground

We are very upset and concerned about this plan and what it would do to our town. Let's fight this as a community! Swarthmore isn't 'nothing' without its trees, but its much much less appealing as a place to live without them.

Everything about their approach has been shady and disingenuous. The Zoom call was utter nonsense.

An environmental impact study assessing the impact of cutting down 124 mature trees should be done prior to doing this.

There is no need to cut down 124 large, healthy trees. Trees and utility wires have coexisted for over a hundred years in Swarthmore. PECO is being lazy in their “solutions.” Bury the lines as required in Maryland. Don’t plea financial hardship as one of the wealthiest corporations in the United States.

PECO please don’t cut down our beautiful trees. Swarthmore is called the tree city for a reason. We treasure our tree canopy.
