Investor-owned utilities in the United States need to be dismantled. They prioritize profits over reliable service, leading to higher average monthly electricity costs and less resilient infrastructure compared to countries with publicly or cooperatively owned utilities, such as Norway, Sweden, and France. These nations benefit from stable energy pricing and reliable service due to efficient grid management and diversified energy sources like hydropower and nuclear power, which minimize weather-related disruptions. In contrast, U.S. consumers face significant price spikes during severe weather events, driven by aging infrastructure and market volatility, highlighting how the profit-driven model can exacerbate inequalities in energy access and affordability, making it a less ideal approach for ensuring consistent, reasonable electricity costs for Americans.

I’m just confused as to how the delivery fees are so much more than the actual supply! It’s extortion right in our faces!

Cmon people- haven’t you noticed there are NEW BIGGER electrical wires on the poles— AND the go into the streets. At the end of my block the new wires go down the pole into the new piping they put under the streets when the dug them up claiming they were putting PVC piping in place of the old pipes used for WATER. we are actually paying to service wherever those wires are going under the streets. NO IM NOT CRAZY
