Please do not increase class sizes. Early release Mondays have already been taken away. Keep classes small to allow for better learning for our kids!

Please do not increase class sizes! Lower elementary students especially are building the foundation for their educational future- and that requires some individualized attention. Teachers only have so much time to give- and the larger the class, the shorter the time per student. West Springfield ES

Fairfax County schools already have large class sizes. My son's fifth grade class has 31 students. With class sizes as large as this, teachers are not able to give students individualized attention and the level of performance from both the teacher and students is degraded. FCPS needs to establish class size caps if they want to continue to offer high quality education to its students.

There are so many other options before increasing class sizes. Increasing class size will reduce the quality of FCPS.

Learning will occur if the environment feels safe (personal space for younger children allows the mind to open to learning around and inside one's self. Overcrowding only preoccupies the mind for safety or competition for attention and no learning takes place. Large numbers in elementary size classes do not comply with SMARTR goals making increases in an educational setting.
