People move to Alva and Bayshore for a rural lifestyle. People cannot keep horses, cows, goats, etc. on postage stamp size lots. Can't Lee County keep a portion of the county rural?

As a resident of Alva for over a decade I hope that our community can preserve the land and environment here. It’s such a special place but won’t be if it’s packed full of houses.

There is a Flood Way from the North side of N. River Rd., that extends into the Duke/Cary property. This will affect the natural waterflow from the creeks to the North that help with Babcock’s watershed. Also, as per Dex Bender Environmental (found in the Owl Creek Devolpment Order, there is also "Owl Creek Wildlife Corridor" through the property. Another map I found another map that sites a Bald Eagle Nest, not to mention all of the Gopher tortoises residing on the property.

I have lived in Alva my entire life. We live out here for a reason - please don’t ruin our rural way of living. We’ve spent tons of money to live where we do and take care of our land.

I live in Collier County and I just want to encourage you all to continue to fight. Collier County's growth is pretty much unrestricted and we have had the same situation here - county commissioners going along with whatever developers want. I rules keep changing too and are far from what we thought we originally had. Urban sprawl, loss of wild areas, lack of infrastructure, etc. all as a result of greed and complacency. I wish you the best.
