We don't want big box stores, such as those mentioned, to be allowed to build on Long Bar Pointe. Small, independent, boutiques would be welcome as long as the artitecture befits the surrounding area's style.

I looked at a FEMA map for Longbar Pointe and as suspected- it is within the 'A' floodzone, with part within the 'V'. We are just creating more problems by allowing this intense development to occur within a flood area. Sure, they can fill, however a storm surge with wind will cause damage. This will once again be back on the taxpayers. With FEMA over $20 billion in the red, this can not go on.

Elected Officials must vote NO to devastating the natural habitat, mangroves, nurseries for sea life, survival of shore birds. Or we will vote NO for your next term. As shown by the massive turnout, this project is not wanted by the Manatee County citizenship.

Mixed Use as described is incompatible with a coastal high Hazard area and the low lying land landward of the mangroves. A wide buffer needs to be in place to protect uninformed people from buying a home or business site in the path of the storms to come. Cutting the mangroves will happen. The loss to the sea food industries and recreational fisher people will be great.

Protect our baylife, just say no to the map change from RES 9 to MU. Once this land along the bay has been destroyed you can't change your mind. This will be like a run away fright train if you allow the land map change. Many lies were told to us by the developers and if you go forward with this, there is no turning back, it will be like watching a run away freight train!.
