My husband and I have spent the past decade, plus in the campground at Jekyll Island for the winters. The Pier Road shops are part of the quaintness that makes Jekyll Island so special. Over the years, we have purchased many items from books from local authors, clothing, to island treasures, to food items….. in the shops. Please please please let the shoppe keepers continue their merchandizing! Thank you!

Please! Keep these shops! They are an integral part of the best of Jekyll Island. Stop erasing Jekyll's history and the people who on a day to day basis knew everyone's name. Erasing ties to and memories of this beautiful island is going to destroy it as the nature preserve it has been. So many people respect the island, caring about it's wildlife, ecology and history which drawers them to return every year over and over again. It was never about corporations, money and drawing those who use and abuse it without a thought to it's rarity and sacred space.

I feel this is a very serious error in judgement. The Pier Rd shops are unique & a special part of JI. I shop there & yake my guests there. I don’t shop in the Beach Village as it’s just tourist stuff from Anywhere USA!

We have been coming to Jekyll for every year for almost 15 years and one of the highlights is visiting each of these unique stores. We love seeing and talking with familiar people each year!!

This is a crucial part of historic jekyll island. I’ve been coming since I was a child and this historic store part of Jekyll is something we treasure!
