Businesses that have thrived here matter. If the JIA (Jekyll Island Authority) decides to replace them with common franchisee chains just for more profit, then that’s just greed with no real drive for good.

Those shops are a lovely part of the island’s charm and low key way of living. So much on Jekyll has changed, I understand progress/upgrades , but we are losing all that has made Jekyll special and different.

Keep the stores in the Jekyll historic district. We love them !! They are history and should be preserved . These businesses are fitting to the area
