Stop Ousting of Pier Road Historic District Shops in Jekyll Island

Fully against ousting Shops in Historic district of Jekyll.

Not fair! Leave this beautiful area alone

This is so disappointing! We have spent a lot of summers going to Jekyll Island and going to see the lights at Christmas. The shops in the historic district are just part of the visit. This is not right and so unfair!!!

This family work hard to keep this business going , in Jesus name amen

Small business always has to weather economic storm by those risk taking , innovative business owners themselves. As governmental authorities, their roles shall not be the last straw to devastate their business, instead, supporting them and Preserving American entrepreneurship spirit is key to success. There shall be more efforts to find better solution than ousting them in such cold hearted way. It lays suspicion of corruption behind all these actions.

Small Business define our area and set it apart from others.

Please be considerate and think some other ways for this small businesses to help them and be able to have their business remain in this park

Been a resident for over 34 years, extremely disappointed in JIA for this and for general overdevelopment of the island.

Stop this from happening

Please extend the lease of the Pier Road shops.

Stop Running off the little guys for more big business.

As a friend of Juliana Germano, I know that she has had delightful shops in the Jekyll Historic District for a VERY long time. I have witnessed much time, money and effort into her businesses. I'm all for progress BUT giving a business three months to vacate is short sighted and is a Government over reach. This should be quite scary to us all! Many of these businesses have been quite steadfast--if it's increased revenue JIA is seeking then give them the requirement and the time to achieve. Don't just summarily take away their investment.. Again proudly Georgia is named the top state for business, recently Governor Kemp stated: "State and local economic developers have worked together to retain businesses for years to come." Does this include JIA?

I have visited Jekyll Island many times to vacation with family and enjoyed going to the stores that are being vacated. The is horrible of what is being done.

Save the small businesses.

This is unacceptable of the JIA and they should be ashamed. My mom has had multiple shops in the historic district for almost 28 years and has made the shops her life's work. She has been planning on selling these businesses for retirement and now if this happens will be forced to liquidate inventory leaving her to start over. Her businesses that she has spent 28 years building will be worth absolutely nothing. Do the right thing Jekyll and buy the businesses out at a fair price or extend the lease.
