As a former resident, and employee, of one of these shops I am so sadden to read this info. I remember the smiling faces of the visitors. I suppose now you will turn these shops into being ran by people who do not care about the business but only a paycheck from the "Authority".

I wish all the tenants a successful solution. It is sad that "some companies" (i.e., the landlord[s]) are so greedy. Makes one wonder what is EXACTLY going on!

Please do not close these precious shops that are a charming relief from the commercial world of today.
They fit the historic district.
If the island wants to improve, reopening the Crane Cottage and the Jekyll Island Club for increased dining options and historical ambience would be a welcomed start.

And I thought the state had a "median citizen's rates" clause. JIA is repeating history - raising prices so that it, once again, becomes a playground for the rich again. It seems to no longer be a state park in so many ways. Updating and refurbishment can occur with many other methods than throwing out these shop owner's with heavy-handed tactics. We need some integrity and transparency here.

This is despicable. Cold and heartless. I’m disgusted by this action.

Jekyll is the people’s island. You have forgotten what makes the island special, with this being the latest. JIA is taking away from these longtime, committed businesses. Shame on you.

Now I’m VERY SORRY I recently renewed my annual pass! JIA should be ashamed of giving these long-time workers the shaft!

This is an outrage and total disrespect for the merchants! We have visited J I all our lives and it is all about greed and control not the people and the well being of others just the elite( they think) few.
