Horrible idea for our waterfront, for Vallejo. Another case of no long range vision from our Vallejo "leaders".

No, no, no! We don't need this, don't want this, it will ruin our air, our water, our environment and our economy, it will bring our housing boom to a halt and reverse it as many of us who don't want to live near a cement plant move elsewhere. Don't do this!

Once again the residents of Vallejo are being lied to about the safety of this project....this is dangerous and full of flaws. Don't dump this highly polluting project on us!!!!

Just an FYI, Vallejo used to have two cement factories, and Mare Island is covered in Nuclear waste and toxic mold left over from when the Navy shut it down. A cement factory isn't as bad as you people are making it out to be, and it will create jobs for people in Vallejo that are suffering from being unemployed. A lot of you are just assuming that it is going to create the same level of pollution as the oil refinery in Martinez. Well, it's not. Oil is a lot more toxic and harmful than cement. Cement is just ground up rocks. You know what else is just ground up rocks? The sand on the beach where you take your children. Vallejo citizens are their own worst enemies. You say that you want tax money for more police to bring down the crime, killings, and drug use. But, whenever a company comes along that wants to provide jobs and tax dollars, you drive them out, like a bunch of barbarians. You did it to Walmart, you did it to the Nugget that they were going to build at the old Elks Lodge, you did it to the company that was going to build the mall and the state of the art movie theater on Mare Island, you've done it to almost every business that has tried to open on Georgia Street in the past twenty years trying to revitalize the downtown, you did it to the Old Navy. And, now you are trying to do it to the medical marijuana dispensaries providing jobs, and paying taxes so that we can finally get more police. Everytime that something good tries to come to Vallejo, the citizens wreck it. And, you all wonder why places like Trader Joe's don't want to open stores in Vallejo. Well, it isn't a shock to me. You have a corrupt city council, and citizens that hate honest work and love crime. That factory could provide hundreds of people with jobs, lifting them out of the gutter, and taking them off of EBT. But, I guess that you would all rather work three hour shifts at Six Flags for less than $23 after taxes.

The Draft EIR left me with more questions and very concerned for the residents of the citys health, Public safety, and growth in the direction the people have made very clear in other documentation is the way we residents envision for our home.
The Orcem/VMT project will endanger public safety, health and peace of mind, may have serious repercussions to our wildlife habitat, not to mention the pollution in the form of run off into the Napa River system, the loss of public Historical and recreational space, noise pollution, light pollution, significant water usage during a drought in trade for too few jobs and a really low amount of tax revenue. The unwillingness of "Orcem/VMT to pay to repave and upgrade the roads going into and out of the plant with over 300 trucks a day driving in 2 lanes on poorly maintained roads through a neighborhood... past schools and a playground 24 hours a day...for maybe 40 jobs. BAD deal for Vallejo.

A flour mill has to be very clean because it is in the food industry. Cement is the worst polluting industry for humans and environment. Keep heavy industry away from residential areas and grow Vallejo as a beautiful historic river city with a thriving tourist industry.

We don't need this. We need to work on helping the environment not making it worse. I refuse to see this here's already enough places like this out there we don't need anymore. Why not put all this money towards something more constructive. I say NO TO ORCEM

This is bad news for Vallejo on so many )evels. None of it makes sense! Whoever it is on the city council who has encouraged this company in its attempt to open here, is maki g a serious mistake. A career endig mistake. People are riled up about this-and we will not allow this to proceed!
