!We Believe Our Opinion!
We believe our coastline is being lost at an increased rate due too Offshore Dredging off the Holderness coastline. One of the best defences for our coastline is a steep beach to reduce the power of the waves, however Dredgers are taking Tonnes of sand away which would normally end up on the beach protecting the coastline. I worked in sand&gravel quarrying for 31years around bransburton, if you dig a hole in sand&gravel under water it will draw material for yards around to fill the hole, the dredgers that used to run into hulls alex dock, hcan carry 2000-3000 tons per trip when they topped the stock up at hull they would do 3-4loads+at a time thats a hell of a big hole to fill i believe thats whats made the break at spurn. by the way have you seen the hundreds ofthousands of tons of material to fill alex dock to a depth of 30to40ft all dredged off the humber!!
