Please don't water down the program! The rationales behind this decision are shaky at best. To be successful in this part of the country, our children need to be prepared to work in French. Don't mess with something that works!

I want my kids, yours and future generations to experience the same great Early French Immersion Program in the OCDSB that I did, not the 60/40 model for grades 1-3 being proposed. I chose this program for my kids because we live in a bilingual city & country. This is the same choice made by the majority of families as 68% of the kids currently enrolled in the OCDSB choose EFI. The program is working well for the majority, please do not make these changes.

I am discouraged to see the OCDSB proposing such drastic cuts to the Early French Immersion program with such limited consultation with parents.

The French Immersion program at OCDSB has been the best program since the 1980's. Students graduating from the program actually think in French; they don't translate from English. My husband & I are perfect examples - he came from the OCDSB French immersion program, I came from a different board with more English. He speaks French fluently, I have trouble with sentence composition and tend to Anglisize my French. Full French Immersion, or we move to the Public French board!

Canada is bilingual and we want all canadian children to be bilingual if they want

Hours of French language instruction should be increased from what is currently provided in EFI, not decreased.

As a parent of a child in SK, my hope was that he would get more French from school and not less. By taking away math in French he is missing out on the opportunity of a whole area that I think is important for full language devleopment.
