The development should either stopped or should provide for all its own infrastructure schools, doctors etc. as Mickleover / Derby cannot cope with the development in South Derbyshire. Presumably, these people living in the new development will need to find work and most will be in Derby. They will need to travel into Derby through Mickleover where the roads already jam badly in the rush hour and at other times. Development in South Derbyshire seems to follow a pattern of building as close to the border of the city of Derby as possible and providing no infrastructure at all and expecting the slack to be taken at by the city at NO cost to South Derbyshire.

we love walking and cycling in the proposed development site . We have lots of new developments and feel that we should protect this bit of land.

Capacity problems have already reached absurd levels; nationally and locally. We are now only producing 53% of our food, which is a disgrace. Sprawling over farmland is a short term reaction which will have dire consequences. There has already been a lot of new building in Mickleover.

This is a selfish attitude you should think about the thousands of people coming into the country requiring houses and schools and medical care and free hand outs so let's build more and more houses for them until we are saturated and this country is in more of A mess than theirs

The area south of Derby is already inundated with substantial existing or proposed housing developments. Unless this regime is stopped Derby will merge with Mickleover Littleover Etwall Hilton and Hatton ,a traffic clogged sprawl with a lack of facilities.

Safety issues associated with traffic flow and speed down the A516 - all of which will be exacerbated by extra traffic associated with a large new housing development.Importantly, there’s the cumulative adverse impact of additional traffic associated with all recent residential and commercial developments locally, the traffic impact of the proposed development cannot be evaluated in isolation.

The proposal for the traffic island as the proposed access to the housing site has limited time-sample based surveys which do not provide an adequate picture of real life traffic flow, nor do they reflect genuine concerns about road safety.

To many new developments for Mickleover,the A516 is far to fast and busy for all the extra traffic also bearing in mind this is the only route into jJohn Port school from our area, too too dangerous, just as Kingsway Island is dangerous. The new proposed underpasses and flyovers will also bring much more heavy traffic through their roads.
