As the parent of a transfer student, I believe that older students, some with *spouses and children* should not be forced to live on campus. Or even worse, up the road at Motel 6, which is definitely dangerous.

Everything I've been wanting to say has already been posted. The fact that the majority of these legitimate complaints and concerns are so similar and specific over HUNDREDS of commenters should be a concern of Cal Maritime administration and the CSU system as well.

As a student of CSULB, I disagree with whats going on at Cal Maritime. Students do not have a lot of money, they are ballers on a budget. As it is, most receive money from their parents. Students deserve the right to choose where they want to live. My best friend goes to Cal Maritime and tells me of the atrocity of whats going on there. Give the boys of Cal Maritime something to smile about @administration.

I am signing this petition as a parent. This will benefit the students and give them a sense of responsibilities and maturity in life and their future.

You should not be required to live in a cal state school especially because many students at cal states are commuters.

As if college doesn't make enough from our tuition and uniforms. Housing should be suggested, improved upon to make students incentivized to live on campus. It should not restrict students who choose otherwise to live off campus.

As with many other alumni who have signed I agree living off campus was a great experience. It taught me to take care of my self (cook, clean, pay bills, and manage sharing more than just a room with people) these skills are all important in life after school. I'm also appauled that a CSUM staff member would come onto the comments and threaten students, truly un-unacceptable.

This place is known for various crimes and drugs. It is no place for a college student to be forced to stay when they are trying to better their future. This is not an option.

Mandatory on campus housing was not what I signed up for. I have never lived on campus and to now move on campus and away from my family is not an option. This is extremely inconsiderate and feels like a scheme to rip off students.
