The Cropper Administration has created more UNNECESSARY Regulation, than any other Administration has created during their full term in office, no matter what the length. The good news is, THERE IS MUCH MORE TO COME!

Mandatory campus housing does not contribute to student's financial well being, and more importantly their mental health. Students must be allowed the choice of housing instead of being pigeonholed into a dismal and undesirable accommodations. Otherwise, many students will not chose CMA simply because it does not allow for reasonable living conditions suitable for all students.

I am not certain that this posting is from the actual employee of CSUM by this name, but if it is I hope that you can re-read this statement and note the condescension and lack of respect that it communicates. If the students are not respectful, those in power hardly should expect to gain their respect through this type of communication. I would also point out 2 specific issues:
1) It is odd to assert that students do not understand how to run a successful housing system when many of them are about to operate major maritime vessels safely within just a few months. If they don't have all the information, explain it to them with respect that these brilliant folks will figure it out.
2) There is nothing about asserting their right to free speech that should result in students being punished. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the sinking of the El Faro and the lessons learned. It would appear that an over aggressive skipper with fearful mates that failed to speak up loudly enough was a significant factor in the loss of a ship and the death of merchant mariners. A willingness to stand up for what is right is one of the most critical skills that could be taught by CSUM.

there is no reason for students to live on campus except in first year maybe, on campus housing is too expensive, many students will not be able to continue as they are struggling financially already, other CSU's do not require on campus housing, think about it, you are setting yourself up for a law suit

I’m in room 225 so if you wanna give me demerits tell it to me person. To be honest I don’t even care about the on or off campus housing it’s the punishment of students for just speaking out for an ideal they stand for the reason I’m signing this.
