We would like to register our serious objections to an ad currently plastered on at least one Madison bus which features Rosie the Riveter hawking Pabst Beer. Rosie is an icon of feminism, not to be commodified in this way; we would hope that upon a moment of reflection that you will see why this has been a very bad idea. We strongly request that this ad be removed from Madison’s buses and that Pabst seriously reconsider any other venue where this offensive misuse of Rosie may appear. Thank you.
