logging this beautiful area, where people live and vacation is stupid and short-sighted.

Trying again to submit the poem. There's a lake in the north that draws you forth with the lure of the scented pine. With the beauty so serene it has to be seen at least once in a lifetime. Dore lake is a place that shows such grace could this be the promised land? With the forest so proud staring up at the clouds as if reaching for God's hand. With trees so tall they see more than us all they stand in majestic pride. But in a storms gail you can hear them softly wail as their old limbs are tested in the winds ride. With waves slapping the shore and whiskey jacks asking for more this is Dore's song at it's best. With the beauty and the peace all problems seem to cease being cradled against nature's breast. So if you're passing by stop in to see why Dore Lake has answered our call. The spruce, birch and the pine haven't heard the chainsaws whine, they have been left for the enjoyment of all.

The following poem I wrote many years ago during one of our many visits to Dore Lake. Thought it was appropriate to share at this time.
