My first big experience with lumber was back in 1962 when I helped to precut the materials needed for the first three cabins at Camp Carmel, which is on Michel Point. As a very young man, I never gave a thought as to where that lumber came from. Obviously it cames from someones “back yard”. So, okay now, does this logging have to be so very visible to those who live at or visit Michel Point? I don’t think so! Please keep Michel Point beautiful!

I have been going to Dore Lake since 1961 and have never had my safety been a problem until the summer of 2014.I was run of the road by a logging truck and at times the dust was so bad you were driving blind into the dust and being scared to stop to get run over froma truck following.I think it is time the government stands up to the logging industry and takes the trucks off the Dore road intil a new road can be built that can take the load weights that are hauled now on a road never built to the standardof todays weights.On the enviornment side if they keep clear cutting the hills I wonder how long it will take for our lakes to be polluted with silt and if that happens who will resonible for the clean up.I am sure the logging companies would be he first to step up .Lets keep this area as it was for decades and not destroy it for the almighty dollar.

I grew up at Dore Lake and feel there is not a more peaceful or beautiful place. There should be no logging allowed within 5 miles of the lake or the communities. It is only right to preserve this place for future generations. Please save Michel Point.

My wife and I had the opportunity to experience Dore Lake several years ago - and we were stunned by the beauty of that pristine area. There are just some places where this kind of thing should not happen. Please protect the Michel point area.
