I saw first hand how hard Kelly worked and I feel she did everything in her power to make it work.

I worked part time for Kelly at the cafe, she always worked her hardest to produce great tasting food and to keep a nice open spaced atmosphere where people could enjoy a relaxing coffee or meal. I had a great experience working for Ms. Barlow.

Sad to see cafe leave. Council should work with her, not against!

The Waterline café provided a warm safe, child friendly place for the community to meet. I know Kelly tried lots of ideas to make the business a viable one, but despite her efforts, her business was not making sufficient money to stay open. What a great pity for the community. Those of us who frequented the Waterline often now meet in passing and we all lament the closure of such a wonderful place to meet. What a pity Ms. Barlow wasn't allowed to use signage to attract more customers. The place where the Waterline was is now empty and silent and will probably remain so unless the Council provides a more supportive business environment. Opening the café was the achievement of a life ambition for Ms. Barlow and so it was an intensely difficult decision for her to close the café doors. She is far from wealthy and couldn't afford to run the business without making a profit to support herself and her locally hired staff and to cover the cost of running the café. As a Randwick Council rate payer I object to my money being spent on pursuing Ms. Barlow. It is not money well spent. Please stop this process now. Thankyou.

Maybe council you understand they contributed to the loss of the cafe regarding signage not permitted. Conncil should help her reopen and let her being back the cafe for the people

I confirm that Kelly Barlow made the Waterline a great cafe, close to the beach for the Little Bay Community to meet. It was a child friendly, warm, friendly and vibrant place like no other in Little Bay. It is very much missed. Despite the wonderful home made food and all of Kelly's hard work and entrepreneurial ideas such as private events, cooking classes, takeaway food etc she couldn't make the cafe viable. She was not allowed to use signage to attract people to the cafe and those that run the community centre did not make it easy for her to tender for catering events. My own feeling is that the Council itself contributed to making the cafe an unviable business, putting Kelly in a position which gave her no option but to close the cafe. SO the fact that the Council is now pursuing Kelly for a substantial amount of money is completely outrageous. I most emphatically do NOT agree with this course of action and object strongly to the Council taking this line. Please do NOT pursue Ms Barlow any further. She has lost the cafe and is in considerable debt as a result. This is a lose lose situation for all involved. The community, Kelly and the Council.

Such a shame this cafe was forced to close down. With a lack of signage she did very well to attract any customers. With some aided help this cafe would flourish. Little bay needs a cafe like this near the beach to enhance the community feeling.

The cafe was a great boost to the locals who were the patrons, and those who knew of the cafe. It's location made promotion difficult, and if the cafe owner had been able to have better signage it may have had better patronage.

A favourite Little Bay community facility and residential meeting place, which attracted a number of people into the area who otherwise would have gone elsewhere. Randwick Council needs to recognise that legal action is petty, foolish and costly and will drive away innovative participation in local business and community activities - particularly in the isolated peninsular area of Little Bay. Please come back Waterline Cafe. You are sadly missed.

Perhaps council should put their energies into supporting local business instead of suing those that are having a go.
