There is no need to develop the Butts when there is plenty of Brownfields sites available. The Butts are used by many, for exercising and other recreational uses.

There is plenty of brown field sites to build houses on in Newcastle utilise these 1st, it's not like we have not had our share of new developments over the last 20 years sucking up green land. Why not utilise empty buildings in the town to encourage town living
Newcastle is an historic market town and all developments should reflect that fact, unlike no1 London road which is an eye saw!

I have been walking the Butts for the last 52 yeaars. It is what keeps this area special. It is a haven for wildlifethat does not deserve to be driven away.

This is vandalism of greenbelt ...the Butts is a wildlife haven and a green lung for newcastle-u-lyme. It hosts a mixed woodland, wildflower nature area and deserves protection for the future. Having looked at the plans of the area proposed I will fight in every way possible to prevent the Butts being sold off.

This council seems to have little, if any, grasp of the concept of stewardship. I ead that one councillor remarked tha the butts and other areas 'do not serve an operational need and are surplus to requirements'. What an appallingly limited view of what the community needs. If the butts go it will be a breach of trust and the loss of a landmark public space.

I can foresee enormous problems in building houses on the hill behind 99 and higher numbers in Paris Avenue. Any houses, if built, would be much higher than the existing houses and the negative impact on the environment would seriously reduce the value of the property in the area.

We use this parkland all the time. It is what makes this area such a great place to live. I can not believe the council want to sell it off to the highest bidder. I will help fight this proposal.
