This is unthinkable and not only violates parental rights but constitutional rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Since when did Big Brother arrive in the United States of America - land of the free and home of the brave. This is both sad and an international public embarrassment to me as an American. This is not Nazi Germany and the government does not have this right and the fact that they have taken it means we are asleep at the wheel or our government thinks it is above the law. We have truly become a government run by special interest groups who bribe overtly or covertly those that are supposed to represent our voice. Please do something about this.

This is absolutely abusive to the rights of children. At a minimum there should be an examination and the parents allowed to comment. Sounds like the Gestapo is back

What's going on in the mental healthcare system in this country is disgraceful and inhumane causing great suffering to thousands and profits to big PHARMA, doctors and psychiatrists! It's antiquated and corrupt!

To maintain the integrity of families, the right of parents to control how their children are cared for, it is imperative to insert the points of this petition under the section of the cited law. If the points are ignored, we move further into a barbarism. Don't let that happen.

The current law violates the fundamental right that a parent has to safeguard their child. How a law like this was ever passed is incredible.

This is disgusting. Who would want such an authoritarian state? If a child is going crazy at school, have someone take him/her out for a walk and talk. What do you think a scary ward is going to do to them?

I am 100% against children being removed from school without parental consent. No one should have this right EXCEPT the parent!

The Baker Act is, itself, a crime against children and a breeding ground for childhood tragedies that tear families apart. The government and schools should have absolutely NO rights regarding making decisions about mental health treatment. This is a parent's decision ALONE.
