This is the most senseless thing I've heard of. As parents, we are to be responsible for our children and his or her actions. Essentially, involuntary commitment takes responsibility out of the hands of parents, WHERE IT BELONGS! Get real!

Using school personnel as recruiters for psychiatric services is outside of the mandate of educational system.
In cases of immediate danger, call 911. All others should be able to be handled with due process and full evidence gathered and presented to an actual judge.
Also, I don't think that involuntary psychiatric treatment of children has even been shown to help, statistically.

This proposed law gives power to educators that far exceeds the role of an educational institution.

This is an unbelievable overstepping of parental and civil rights for all concerned. If this is allowed to happen, who is next?

I've had personal experience with this and it is NOT okay. Once this is 'in place' even the parents can not reverse it.

It is shocking to think that my child can be removed from school without parental consent for any reason much less one as insidious as a "psychiatric" one.
