They have done this to my nephew numerous times and I'm sick of it

My granddaughter was admitted after her friends showed the school couselor text messages and a poem about death. My granddaughter has sextile mutism and cannot defend herself verbaly.

I am reaching out to you today because my daughter was inappropriately Baker Acted by a Lynn Haven Police Officer last Wednesday evening, November 9, 2016. I am going to file formal complaint with the City of Lynn Haven Police Department, but I do not believe that I am being taken seriously by anyone I have spoken to about this and I believe it is time for me to reach out higher than I have thus far. I have researched this extensively and I believe your department needs more training on the appropriate and legal use of the Baker Act. I would like to get some resolution on this matter through city channels in deference to getting an attorney and taking it further. But, I am willing to find an attorney if need be in order to get some kind of resolution. On the evening of Wednesday, November 9, 2016, my fifteen year old daughter was inappropriately and illegally taken into protective custody by Officer Joshua Branch of the Lynn Haven Police Department based on a contact that came in from the Panama City Police Department. My daugher had texted a friend of hers that she was going to kill herself. She also texted him a picture of her hand with 6 of her ADHD pills in it. Officer Branch came to our house and asked my daughter if she intended to hurt herself and why. It came to his attention that she, "thought" she was going to. (Notice that "thought," is in the past tense. That will be relevant as this message progresses.) By the time Officer Branch and Officer Thompson arrived at our home, we had secured the pills my daughter had taken the picture of as well as calmed her down. We had spoken with our daughter and between my husband and I had a plan to monitor her that evening as well as make an urgent appointment with her Psychiatrist ASAP. When the officers arrived at our home, I explained to them in detail the treatment that she was under and that we were committed to care for her and ensure her safety. This is so wrong in so many ways I can't even start to talk about it nobody should have a right over a parent unless that parent is unfit.

My son was at no risk to himself or anyone else and was subjected to children with real violent and lascivious behavior. They threatened him with bodily harm abusing him mentally these other children. He has never been exposed to anything like this before and because of it causing unnecessary trauma as there is no separation between severely mentally ill and a child with hormonal difficulty's. My son will never get that night out of his mind without his loving family's support and concern rather a tumultuous ungoverned adolescent nightmare! In his words "that's what prison must be like"! I'm sure this must be necessary for some but those should be separate from anyone questionably dangerous.

That's no right.

This happened to my son in Massachusetts. It was detrimental to his High School experience. If the appropriate services would've been given first and the county not denied him, it would've never happened!
