Norfolk is a special place, isolation means that we are less suceptible to pests and diseases affecting mainland locations. We have a beautiful natural environment and it would be very nice if the government could support us in conserving what we have. Also our economy is not the strongest, supporting local industry and keeping our local population with prosperous work is vital for our community health. It may cost the government maybe a bit more money, but this is the nature of on an isolated island. Community comes first.

Not supportive of importation of rock, also not supportive of Australian bureaucrats determining importation and having no sensitivity, accountability or common sense when it comes to the biosecurity of Norfolk Island.

Apart from the real risk of introducing unwanted pests and contamination there appears to be no logic or sense at all to importing rock when the supply is already on island. Who made such a dumb ass decision!? Block the importation!!!!

Seriously! Besides the massive bio impact, it means the money stays on Island + employment opportunities ,rock could be quarry from a location that will start the new path to a 3rd pier, and don't spin the s<*+ that our rock quality is not good enough!!!!

Support local community and job creation by only using rock quarried from the island. Furthermore putting this pristine island at risk of further risk of biosecurity breaches is downright irresponsible on so many levels.

I have visited Norfolk Island and believe in the use of local resources to keep the environment free of contamination. Biosecurity is paramount to maintain the pristine condition of the entire island.
