We have laws for a reason. What the city has chosen to do with this IDC is illegal, plain and simple. This is what happens when you allow small town politics to intervene with federal land ownership rights.

This is a sensitive issue. There are aged properties that need to be replaced and enhanced for the taxes this area is subjected to.

If current zoning regulations are not adequately serving the neighborhoods of Mt. Lookout and Hyde Park, then the proper way to effect change is by altering the zoning map or creating new zoning districts, NOT by creating an onerous review process that only applies to property owners in these neighborhoods.

fundamental property rights are under attack here. if a subdivide meets with current zoning restrictions it should be allowed.

If the city wants to stop growth they should say so. The imposition of arbitrary criteria to land development appears to be an infringement on a property owners right to use their own property in accordance with current zoning and building codes.
