Time to stop hurting the most vulnerables in the province and start doing your homework and make the cuts where they really need to be made.

It's past time government realized that affordable, accessible daycare is a necessity...not a luxury. Cutting support in this manner directly is shortsighted and negatively impacts a large portion of NB society.

daycare is way to expensive for the average family, especially if they have more than one child. I myself, have four and choose to have one stay at home parent rather than pay those outrageous rates.

I hope this was a mistake and will be soon corrected now that the implications of removing the quality improvement funding has become apparent.

If the rate is to high I should just stay at home and not work being a mother of 2 with minimum salary...The rates are high enough as it is if you don't have any government aide...What will because our families..curing schools and now daycare...!

So much for the promise to create daycare spaces instead you are hurting daycares.

I am a parent who needs childcare to be available. Due to the new legislation I may lose my daycare or not be able to afford it anymore. This is a huge issue and obviously our government has no idea what it's like to try to get childcare as it is right now. This is absolutely ridiculous!

As a 'for profit' daycare owner I am floored and sick to my stomach with this recent liberal cut. With the wage enhancement that I've been receiving since opening 20 months ago I was ONLY MAKING MINIMUM WAGE. My employees were already making more then I was - you stated that as a business owner I should be able to make that sort of money without gov help is ridiculous - if you knew anything at all about running a business and serving families and children who NEED you you would know that the only way I could do that is to raise rates by at least $10/week per child. I've already raised the rates once this year to offset the minimum wage increase in January- this would mean since you've been in power you have costs these tax paying families $15extra dollars per week per child- where is the logician that? Because no one will be able to afford my rates - which I might add are equivalent to the non profit centres !!! If I'm such a for profit hungry business woman then why am I charging the same rates- it's because I UNDERSTAND and I CARE about what I do- I used my education and experience to create 14 jobs in our province and with a stroke of a pen you take it all away from me- you sir have no real idea of the impact this has caused- think about it again- I urge you to pull these owners tax returns and see how much profit we made- I'f we made upwards of 30,40 or 50 ,000 a yr then I would UNDERStand taking it away - but we don't - we can't survive without this - it's just not possible!

This is a disgrace ! Unfortunate as it is, those owners and operators on a for-profit centre do not walk away with a high income at the end of their fiscal year! In fact, many are just covering bills and food on the table! They do this for the love of the children in our communities hoping for brighter futures! Check out the stats, Liberals, children who are able to attend quality childcare centres in their early years are less likely to drop out of school, have higher academic standings, and understand social responsibility. Keep the funding where it is, and show us the 6,000 spaces that you promised.

Unreal!! They want to save some money, how about taking more of a pay cut with their own salary instead of taking from the people in NB who are just getting by! Ridiculous!

As a parent and a educator myself. I very hurt and upset what the government is doing to our for profit child care centres. Penalizing educators who have worked so hard after 20 plus years in the field to open her very own centre. She has operated now for 20 months and is just making ends meet. Trying to have this dream she's always wanted and you are taking it from her. Maybe you should of really did some research before making a big move!! You said you were going to create daycare spaces, well with this great decision you just made you'll be in a big mess cause 64 kids at Angie's little peeps will be with out child care. Fix it!!!!!!
