I am a resident of Wyoming who is not in favor of this wholesale rollback of protections for WSA's. The provisions of this bill that prevent federal agencies from surveying for wilderness values of Wyoming public lands in the future are shortsighted and wrong. This bill undermines wide precedent and extensive work by actual local stakeholders.

My work is contingent on these lands remaining whole and protected. We all have a responsibility to care for this, and all land, as it has sustained and cared for us through all of human existence. I encourage Senator Cheney to take a longer view on decisions regarding the environment, and think creatively about where her leadership can take our economy, rather than grasping to the ways our economy has historically been organized. I appreciate that this is a hard and complex task. And, right now, this is the task at hand for our leaders.

I do not believe any more land should be removed from Wilderness considerations. We can always dri;l later, but we can not put the Wilderness back together again.

I was raised in Wyoming and have enjoyed these lands for years. They deserve full Wilderness protection, not release of WSA status. This bill is not what Wyoming locals want.

Our public lsnds and all that is contained eithin should be managed for the people with environmental stewardship and preservation for all time. No development of any kind! No drilling, mining, sale or lack of public access.

I oppose HR 6939. Public lands are invaluable to Americans and any legislation that threatens them or rolls back current public land protections, is not in the best interest of the American public and our environment.
