As a day hiker and overnight backpacker I love to be in a pristine forest, looking for what's ahead on the trail, the wind sounds, water sounds coming closer, the views opening up. A motorized vehicle: a four wheeler, off road vehicle or a snow machine will totally ruin the experience for me. The only use for a motorized vehicle is to get from point A to point B. The operator does not experience the wildness. To be out of the human environment that we all live in and to be immersed in the natural wild as it has always been is an awesome experience. The Forest Service and the BLM have been put in place to protect these lands for everyone. Please vote against HR 6939 and protect public lands from a rollback of regulations. Thank you!

The push to roll back protections on wild lands in Wyoming is offensive to me and reflects the underlying motives of a politician, who was raised in privilege and spent most of her life outside the state. If you've spent your life here as I have, as a hardworking citizen of modest means, access to the unequaled beauty and wonder of our unspoiled places is a wondrous gift from the Universe, where we are all humans, all just visitors in sacred places that have inherent value far greater than any potential economic value that could be gained by their exploitation. I hike, I ski, I backpack, I photograph, I bring children, I bring out-of-state visitors, I learn, I teach, I pray, I encounter the beauty and wonder of countless species of flora and fauna, I reflect, I write, I sing, I meditate, I challenge myself physically and emotionally, all in places that I could never hope to own or access by wealthy connections. All fragile and subject to irreparable damage if not protected from development. My heart aches that our elected representative hasn't the humility or humanity to recognize the value in keeping these Wyoming lands protected.

Let’s get real, it’s difficult to restore local input to land management decisions when zero public meetings go into the draft bill. This is the standard recent protocol for rolling back public land protections; try to sell a land grab as an opportunity to restore local interests. The local (Wyoming, ie. Liz Cheney’s constituents) interests repeatedly favor keeping federal public lands federally public. Kill HR 6939.
