The infrastructure isn’t built to support what is planned! Build up the roads, stores and utilities before you start building additional housing!

I commute Herr lane from 42 to Westport road everyday to take my kid to school and will for the next 15 years. I can’t imagine one more car than there already is trying to fit down this road. It’s an already dangerous situation with people blocking intersections and children trying to cross. Protect the people that live here before you consider adding more!

Traffic congestion on Herr Lane at both ends from 22 to Westport road is already ridiculous several times a day. The street cannot handle this extra traffic.

Area too congested and too much traffic for Herr Ln. How is this going to work with all of the schools and businesses in that area? Poor planning on this project. Drainage is going to be a major problem.

There are currently along the Herr Lane "corridor", subdivisions and housing for over 3,500 families; a tennis complex, a day care, a nursing home, a dental office and 4 schools. There is additional approval for a 500 unit apartment complex which will house, at minimum, 500 people. Primary access for all is a two lane road, Herr Lane, built prior to 1963. If we start to add in retail, from Holiday Manor & Westport Village as well as the future Veterans Hospital, future medical offices (across from Holiday Manor) and other nearby subdivisions (Thornhill, Crossgate, etc., what we have is exceptionally poor planning by the city/county and excessive growth in a limited space area.

We have not yet seen how badly the traffic will be effected by the new VA, and office buildings to be constructed in the immediate area. We need to wait and find out how much worse these unfinished developments will effect the already existing heavy traffic before any change in zoning is considered.
