Withe the construction of the new Veterans Hospital and the unknown traffic congestion that will bring to a concentrated traffic intersection from Herr Lane to Rudy Lane this proposal should be denied or at least postponed until the Kentucky Department of Transportation completes all the alterations of the current traffic patterns. In addition, when construction or accidents occur on I 71, police always exit traffic onto US42 making it impossible to exit or enter Northfield, Holiday Manor and Lime Kiln Lane which turns into Herr Lane as well as reach US 22 (Brownsboro Road). Also in consideration, is the fact that 5 schools are in the direct location of all this construction - Ballard HS, Wilder Elem., Kammerer Muddle, St. , and Dunn Elementary. Due to different schedules, high and middle schools start runs at 6 am then string on Herr Lane from 6:45 through 7:30 am when there are no traffic problems this includes numerous teenage drivers at Ballard along with parents dropping off students. Wilder Elementary , on Herr Lane, begins delivering students via school bus and car rider line at approximately 8:15 and continues through 9:15 if there are no traffic incidents. The car rider line spills onto Herr Lane blocking the road during this time as well. St. Tries to place their arrival times between approximately 7:30 am to 8:15 am with parents trying to drop off stud

More congestion would increase traffic collisions. I have personally not been at fault at the herr lane and Westport intersection and someone blind turning into Shell at Hwy 22. This area is not suitable for this large scale housing with increased traffic. It’s not safe or suitable for this congested area.

I vote NO!!
The proposed land is in an area of exceptionally high traffic for a good part of every day. There is an ever higher concentration of traffic around the time that schools dismiss. A change of zoning would exacerbate an already present problem.

Louisville metro government needs to stop automatically approving development projects that impact the citizens of the smaller cities that abut them without hosting hearings in those cities in the evenings.
