Stop Herr Lane ReZoning Now

Heavy traffic already, and this development will make it worse. Parking at Holiday Manor is tight on the weekends and can't handle an increase.

We need to slow down this push to develop on any scrap of land in Jefferson County. Look around. 90% of the traffic congestion in this county is due to overzealous development. Let’s for once use a little common sense.

My grands attend Ballard. It is already a nightmare there. The kids go to lunch at nearby businesses and no one watches for them. Some have even been hit over the years. Now we have increased traffic with this change. Traffic light are well and good but that will just cause further delay and backup for all four schools and a daycare that use Herr lane

Congestion in the area is overwhelming presently. These apartment units will not help the situation.

The area is already crowded with 4 schools, a new VA hospital under construction, a large proposed apartment complex, and a shopping center all within a small area filtering into a 2 lane roads—-Hwy 22 and Herr Lane. I believe this area has already taken on an absurd amount of new and proposed construction. Enough already!!!!

We are already dealing with the noise and the mess created by the Veterans Hospital construction and now we are faced with more construction of hundreds of apartments and manufactured housing … can it get any worse? Please consider the impact this will have on our our wonderful neighborhoods and the horrible traffic we already deal with on Herr Lane before rubber-stamping these projects.

Seems like some of these projects took advantage of covid social restrictions to get initial approval.

This is an unnecessary! The traffic is bad enough without more congestion!

Herr Lane cannot adequately accommodate current traffic level. It is still the country lane it was when the area was potato farms it is just paved now.

Please comply with the reasonable and public safety concerns raised by the affected residents of this proposed development. They're issues are MORE than cosmetic and the current plans are inadequate for the continued tranquilility and harmonious interplay between neighbors, native species wildlife and vegetation necessary for stability. This reminds me of putting the cart before the horse. Wouldn’t it just be common sense, as one person commented, to evaluate the traffic congestion after the VA project has caused their increase? The people who live here and have to deal with this transportation problem on a daily basis would probably say to tackle one project at a time, experience the traffic result and then move to the next project, rather than guessing what’s the optimal solution. Often, what looks good on paper doesn’t work well in reality. And, if it doesn’t, it’s the people who live in the area who are stuck with it. Please, let’s approach these projects wisely.

This development combined with the traffic from the new Veterans hospital will create a nightmare that will take a long time to correct.
