Farmers and land owners affected don't like it. Citizens affected by the noise pollution, train crossing traffic congestion, and safety risks (flammable and toxic cargo in train accidents) don't like it. Who's left to like it, and why do they like it?

The Cannell Family has had a farm in Winnebago County for over 100 years. And it is STILL a family run farm. We do NOT want a railroad line dividing it. This is precious farm land and it needs to be preserved.

Seems like there should be plenty of land between here and chicago that wouldn't be going through someone's backyard-also y loop all the way around rockford then towards janesville? Wouldn't more direct be east of belvidere?

The toll rail line Great Lake Basin will be destroying farmland, creating road safety hazards, devalue property, their plans are for a train running every 15 minute and carrying anything includes chemicals and other hazards products, The route is in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

Several thoughts....this will absolutely affect our quality of life, will destroy our property values, and can destroy properties that have been in families for years! The intended route is basically in my back yard. Why would anyone want to live with a train carrying hazardous waste traveling through their back yard every 15 minutes? Not only would our quality of life disappear, but so would any opportunity of selling our property to anyone else.

This is an abuse of the eminent domain laws and an example of corruption in our government.

The benefit from and use of this railroad is questionable. The adverse affects to the surrounding areas are definite. Please do not support this project.

We moved here for the rural peace and quiet, abundant nature, and tranquil surroundings... please don't destroy this and the wetlands you propose to go through. The area south of the Pecatonica river has flooded twice since we moved to the area, if there an accident/spill of anything it would be horrendous.
