The railroad will pass a few hundred feet from my house which is still in the process of being rebuilt due to losing it from a house fire

Winnebago has already suffered from the curse of a train derailment. Putting a rail road through a river basin is only going to set up another curse of train derailment. You can't put tracks across wetlands and not expect them at some point to flood out and derail. Those fields flood out every year. I am 55 years old and I have never seen year where they never flooded out. Those are river drainage areas when the river runs high. The safety of the public is at stake here. Our county does not need to be held partially responsible if a huge accident occurs due to negligence from putting tracks where they should never have been approved to be put in the first place. Do we have a large enough fire dept. in Winnebago COUNTY to handle a train derailment when one occurs if they actually go through with this?

This is unnecessary. Any trickle down cash the local economy receives from construction will be offset by pollution and the lifelong destruction the process brings upon the ecosystem.

Grew up in this area and I can't even begin to phantom the terrible things that would come about with this railroad going through such a beautiful place!
What affect would it also have on the wetlands and all the animals and glory it has brought just west, outside of town, in Rockton?!

I am firmly against the construction of a railroad running it's course east of the Village of Winnebago only a few miles from my home.
