The vaquita is a very small and very shy porpoise which makes its home in the Gulf of California. With their shy nature, these porpoises hang out at very low depths of around 300 feet, where the hazards of gillnets surround them. Gillnets are a tool for the fishing market, that catch a fish by being small enough where a fish can't swim through, then catch their gills on the net. This process also entraps unwanted catch, like the vaquita, killing close to %18 every year. The vaquita is now critically endangered, and we need to stop illegal gillnetting so that they can be saved.

The Vaquita was created by GOD to live in and to be a very important part of its habitat and the ecosystem. It is a terrible tragedy that this beautiful porpoise may be heading to extinction.
