The management has finally confirmed they are ending the short-stay scheme in our buildings. My home feels like a neighborhood again rather than a revolving door for tourists and I am deeply grateful to the 358 of you who stood with me to protect our peace. We have shown that …

Get Living London (GLL) in the East Village (Stratford) are listing vacant apartments on various hotel booking websites (booking.com) for short stays.

GLL seems hell-bent on maintaining AND INCREASING rental prices above the London rental market even during the pandemic; driving residents out of the East Village and new potential residents away. With capacity at an all low, GLL is now developing new ideas to create cash flow at the expense of its residents quality of living.

The residents in the East Village have been promised ‘tranquil living with private resident gardens’ but now having to face short stays from non-residents and the potential for encouragement of flat parties, which some have already witnessed and disturbed by.

We say no to this short stay / semi hotel scheme and ask GLL to rethink their business plan and market rents for the benefit of their residents and before they irreparably harm their reputation for London living.

Seeing one hundred people recognize the toll these short stays take on our home is incredibly validating. My neighbors and I deserve to live without the constant disruption of tourists in our hallways. This is just the beginning of holding them accountable.

I am looking at these totals and I know we can hit that hundred mark before the end of the day. Please post the link to your own social media feeds right now so we can show management that this community is united against these hotel conversions.

So glad I left GLL - if they want to let out apartments as holiday let's, so be it, but you've just lost £2500 a month income from a permanent resident. Go figure out the maths!

This is unacceptable on an industrial scale. If GL want to run an Air BnB business on an industrial scale then they should repurpose one of the new buildings for that use only.

Residents shouldn't have to suffer because businesses like GetLiving have flooded the area too many apartments for rent that they now can't fill due to the high rents. No to short term lets, yes to rent reductions so that people can afford to *live* in the area.

I feel unsafe as a woman occupying with GetLiving now that strangers are partying until early in my block and knocking on my door late. This was sold as a neighbourhood and now is anything but...

I’m a former resident of Laurel Point and fully support the action being taken against GLL letting flats in this way, which is at best, not within the spirit of the contract and at worst, possibly illegal.

We are already paying a premium price for renting in the East Village which is supposed to be a quality-of-life-focused development. By renting out the rooms for short stays through Airbnb and Booking our quality of life is being disrupted.
