Drag queens are adult sexual entertainment. Not for kids. We don’t have female strippers read to children. It’s not kind to expose them to explicit and implicit sexual themes, it’s abusive to do so, and robs them of their innocence. It’s also womanface, so very regressive and misogynistic of the Tate to platform men whose entire shtick is making fun of women.

Drag Queens are questionable entertainment for adults - they have NO place doing story time for children.

Let children be children and grow in the bodies they’ve been given. Let them enquire but don’t force this stuff upon them. We know there is always support for those who struggle with identity and social integration. Pushing transgender issues upon them only confuses them more. Let them mature and grow and then make up their own minds when they are adults.

Safeguarding children is necessary for very good reason. As a taxpayer, I object strongly to funding Tate’s determination to ignore the basic principles of safeguarding.
