Montana officials recently killed several black bears, including two cubs, after humans had been feeding the animals. Officials said the bears were dangerous and that is why they killed the bears. The bears paid the price for human error. Human encroachment into bears' natural habitat has sparked increased bear-human encounters. Humans are obligated to coexist peacefully with bears and use non-lethal measures to mitigate bear-human encounters.

I am currently drafting a formal letter to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to demand a shift in protocols toward non-lethal conflict resolution. My focus is on securing a meeting with agency leadership to review how human error is unfairly penalized through lethal measures.

Leave the bears alone. Simple as that.
it’s always the animals who lose their lives over human mistakes. enough is enough.
ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Why are the bears being punished for peoples stupidity? Learn to live with nature or stay inside.
This is so cruel. There are other ways to handle this besides killing them. Do better Montana.
Poor cubs didnt stand a chance. This is heartbreaking. People need to stop leaving food out its not that hard to understand.

If humans keep moving into their backyard we shouldnt be surprised when they show up. Relocate them dont kill them.
